Responsibilities include image quality optimization, equipment QC, and following all policies. Candidates should have ARRT registration and BLS, with strong communication and critical thinking skills for diverse patient populations.

Qualifications

• ARRT registered RT-(R) (M) and MQSA standards for performing mammography.
• Maintains certification in BLS.
• Personal computer skills.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Display critical thinking and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Operates mammography equipment, computer, and image management systems utilized in performing breast imaging exams.
• Performs and assesses quality control measures on equipment and procedures.
• Determines how the technique selections affect optimal image quality.
• Follows policy and procedures.
• Ability to navigate on-line resources pertinent to job responsibilities.
• Ability to communicate with other individuals; visual acuity; ability to lift and move patients; push and pull wheelchairs and stretchers; withstand extensive standing, stooping, bending, squatting or sitting; ability to perform repetitive tasks.
• Demonstrates the skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served.
