Job summary

Louisiana Women’s Healthcare is seeking a Breast Sonographer to perform diagnostic and screening breast ultrasounds, collaborating with radiologists and care teams in a fast-paced clinic.

You will review patient histories, acquire high-quality images, and document findings for interpretation, while adhering to safety, HIPAA, and accreditation standards. Commitment to ongoing education is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or equivalent.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through ARDMS.
• Or ARRT registry in Radiography, Mammography and Breast Sonography.
• Breast Sonography BR certification preferred.
• Must demonstrate punctuality and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and screening breast ultrasound examinations according to protocols.
• Obtain and review patient history to ensure appropriate imaging.
• Produce high-quality images demonstrating breast anatomy and pathology.
• Explain procedures and ensure patient comfort and privacy.
• Document abnormal findings for radiologist interpretation.
• Maintain accurate EMR and PACS imaging records.
• Ensure proper operation, maintenance, and QC of ultrasound equipment.
• Adhere to infection control and radiation safety standards.
• Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, technologists, and administrative staff.
• Support accreditation and regulatory compliance activities.
