Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Two years of journalism experience or equivalent.
Strong reporting, interviewing and writing under deadline.
Experience covering breaking news accurately and competitively.
Experience using social media and user-generated content for verification.

Responsibilities

Cover major breaking news across the country and identify what matters as events unfold.
Build and maintain sources with officials, first responders, community leaders and others.
Verify user-generated content and digital material to support reporting.
Write quickly and clearly on deadline, with a cohesive, multi-format approach.
Collaborate with AP teams across text, photo, video, audio, and graphics.
