Job summary

KIRO 7 News, part of Cox Media Group, is seeking a Digital Content Center Producer to drive breaking news coverage across web, mobile, OTT and social platforms. This on-site role blends editorial judgment with fast-paced newsroom workflows to ensure first, accurate online reporting.

You will write and post content, use analytics to optimize performance, collaborate with broadcast and newsroom leaders, and apply SEO practices while meeting daily production goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Digital Media, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Proven ability to manage breaking news in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
• Strong writer with editorial judgment and understanding of digital audiences.
• Expertise in SEO, streaming, analytics tools, CMS workflows, and social media publishing platforms.
• Understanding of AP Style, media law, and ethical journalism standards.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays; on-site essential role.

Responsibilities

• Monitor local and national news, field calls and tips, and navigate court systems.
• Communicate and coordinate with newsroom staff and sources as stories develop.
• Write and post for the website, mobile app, social media, and push alerts.
• Ensure daily content generation goals are met.
• Stream breaking news, big coverage events, and newscasts.
• Collaborate with newsroom teams to integrate digital storytelling into broadcast workflows.
