Fox News Media seeks an organized Assignment Editor to join the assignment desk in the Washington, D.C. Bureau. You will coordinate daily news coverage across Capitol Hill, White House, Pentagon, and surrounding regions, quickly responding to breaking news and prioritizing editorial info for teams.

The role requires strong logistical and editorial skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a local or national newsroom.
• Familiarity with Washington, D.C. and major government agencies.
• Strong logistical and editorial skills with knowledge of politics.

Responsibilities

• Monitor wires, social media, and other networks for news developments.
• Assign, move, and adjust crews and reporters to meet changing coverage demands.
• Work with beat producers to plan coverage as news develops.
• Ensure urgent information is entered into queues and communicated to personnel.
• Reach out to government agencies and FOX personnel to gather and confirm information.
• Develop coverage plans that maximize resources and pitch coverage ideas.
