Job summary

Kana Hotel Group is seeking a hospitality-minded Host/Hostess to support breakfast service and guest experiences in our Birmingham location. You will manage breakfast bar setup, inventory, and food presentation while ensuring clean, safe, and welcoming service areas.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of hostess experience in a restaurant, with strong customer service skills and knowledge of health standards. This role offers full-time hours and opportunities for growth within the brand.

Qualifications

• One year hostess experience in restaurant is required.
• Prior hospitality experience preferred.
• Customer Service experience required.
• Knowledge of health department standards of food sanitation and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain the breakfast bar in an attractive abundant looking, organized, clean and standardized presentation.
• Take inventory of food, beverages and supplies needed for each day.
• Order or purchase food supplies.
• Prepare foods such as fresh fruit, coffee and juices.
• Set up serving dishes/trays, utensils, cups and other products.
• Set out/arranging cold food such as sweet rolls, muffins and cereal.
• Clear and clean tables as they are vacated.
• Wipe up spills and remove trash.
• Restock self-service food and supplies as needed.
• Wash serving equipment and return it to storage.
• Return reusable food supplies to storage.
• Vacuum and sweep carpets and floors.
• Mop floors.
• Dust, brush, polish and vacuum furniture.
• Dust and clean room decorations, appliances and surfaces.
• Inspect areas for safety hazards and equipment condition.
• Report maintenance issues to supervisor.
• Provide excellent guest service.
• Wear proper clothing per policy and brand standard including non-slip shoes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Reports lost & found articles, maintenance problems (common areas) to your immediate supervisor and maintenance
• Providing excellent guest service
• Wear proper clothing based on company policy and brand standard including non-slip shoes
• Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience
