Job summary

Episcopal SeniorLife Communities seeks a friendly Waitstaff team member for our dining rooms and events. The position handles table service, maintains sanitation standards, and supports a professional atmosphere for residents and guests.

Breakfast shifts run 6:00 AM to 12:30 PM with every-other-weekend requirements. Prior food service experience and knowledge of NYS DOH regulations are a plus; we value courteous service and reliability in a compassionate senior living environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Six months’ food service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of NYS DOH regulations on food operations and sanitation.
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to represent Episcopal SeniorLife Communities professionally with vendors and residents.
• Ability to interact courteously with staff, residents and guests.

Responsibilities

• Understand the menu items and preparation methods.
• Perform pre-service checklist to ensure readiness to open.
• Take all food orders at table(s) and ensure accuracy.
• Deliver all food items to table.
• Follow up on comments to ensure positive outcomes.
• Clear soiled items and reset tables between courses.
• May deliver room service or patio meals for residents.
• Attend service staff meetings to address issues and plans.
• Read literature and memos concerning changes or information.
• Reports to Chef Manager or designee
