Position Summary

Line cooks prepare much of the food that comes out of the kitchen. They work under a head chef or sous chef, and each line cook is typically assigned a particular station, such as the grill, stove, or vegetable prep area. Responsibilities include presentation and storage of menu items following standards, recipes, and health codes.

Physically, the role involves pushing/pulling carts and equipment up to 150 pounds, enduring various movements throughout the work areas, and working in kitchen, restaurant, and hotel environments. The work can involve variable temperature conditions and noise levels, both indoors and outdoors. Candidates must be able to stand and move efficiently for up to 8 hours and be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Related Work Experience: At least 1 year in food and beverage preferred.
  • Supervisory Experience: None required.
  • License or Certification: None required.

Salary: $16.00 - $16.50 per hour.
