Job summary

Kiawah Island Golf Resort is seeking a Jasmine Porch Breakfast Line Cook to set up the hot line before service, execute the breakfast menu, and prep the station for the next day. You will cook eggs to order, follow recipes, and ensure a clean, safe work area under high-pressure conditions.

The role requires prior breakfast line experience, strong organization, and the ability to work quickly while maintaining quality. Employment is full-time with benefits and a starting pay of $17.50 per hour.

Position Summary: The Jasmine Porch Breakfast Line Cook Position is responsible for setting up the hot line prior to the restaurant opening, executing the ala cart breakfast menu, and prepping the station to prepare for the next day. The Cook will perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy. This position is required to maintain an immaculately clean and organized work environment and be able to set up workstation fast and efficiently. Must be able to confidently cook eggs to order (over easy, poached, sunny side up, omelets, etc.) The Cook will follow recipes to the specifications of the Chef (ability to increase or decrease recipe as needed). Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation / health regulations and hotel requirements and must have the ability to work in a fast paced, intense work environment, sometimes under extreme heat and stress.

Pay Rate: The rate of pay listed on job boards are auto-generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s actual rate of pay will be determined during the hiring process. The rate of pay begins at $17.50 per hour.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a fast-paced breakfast line cook position.
• Ability to adhere to breakfast timing standards.
• Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize, organize work and follow through with assigned tasks.
• Ability to be a clear thinker, remain calm and resolve problems using good judgment.
• Ability to work well under pressure of meeting production schedules and timelines of food displays.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
• Ability to maintain a clean, neat and organized work environment.
• Ability to follow recipes, to increase or decrease recipe as needed.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, intense work environment, under sometimes extreme heat and stress.
• High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate required.
• Three years’ experience in culinary field minimum.
• Ability to communicate in English with guests, co-workers and management to their understanding.
• Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations essential.
• Culinary college degree preferred.
• Sanitation Certificate preferred.
• Properly follow all processes that are in place.
• Communicate with all internal customers efficiently such as stewarding and service staff.
• Follow all rules and regulations in employee handbook properly.
• Properly rotate product in walk in cooler.
• Clean and maintain equipment properly.
• Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation/health regulations and hotel requirements.
• Organize and set up workstation fast and efficiently.
• Rotate, label and date all food on station.

Essential Physical Requirements:

• 75% -- Reaches, bends and stoops frequently.
• 20% -- Carries 40 lbs. about 10 times per shift over medium distances.
• 10% -- Verbally communicates with guests and phone.
