Compensation

$1,000 Sign-On Bonus

$15-$20 Average Per Hour Annually

Summary

Perform all methods of cookery, portion control, garnishing of dishes, and follow recipes according to Pinehurst standards. Follow directions from the Resort Executive Chef, Managing Chef, and/or Sous Chefs to maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and production.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED, with at least 1 year of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely food production.
  • Prepare food maintaining quality, taste, and appearance standards.
  • Control proper usage and rotation of food.
  • Maintain food quality and presentation on buffet and plated dishes.
  • Report any food quality issues to the Chef or supervisor.
  • Maintain cleanliness of walk-in coolers and storage areas.
  • Keep workstation and equipment clean and sanitized.
  • Complete prep work timely for the next shift.
  • Perform duties as directed by culinary management, adapting to changes as needed.
  • Make sound decisions based on established principles.
  • Follow policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Attend safety meetings regularly.
  • Assist other departments as needed.
Physical Demands

The employee must regularly talk, hear, taste, and smell. Frequently stand, walk, handle items, reach, and balance. Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must regularly lift up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, and depth perception.

Work Environment

Moderate noise level, working in hot/cold environments and outdoors as needed. Reasonable accommodations are available.
