Position Summary

Responsible for all aspects of the assigned daily cooking station, including preparing breakfast items, break stations, hot and cold foods such as meats, fish, poultry, pizza, sandwiches, baked goods, action stations, and specialty foods in various styles utilizing classical culinary techniques.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Use safe, proper, and proficient knife techniques for food preparation, including slicing, dicing, and chopping.
  2. Execute foundational cooking techniques such as sautéing, grilling, braising, stewing, poaching, blanching, pan-frying, roasting, searing, simmering, and steaming.
  3. Prepare breakfast station items like waffles, pancakes, egg dishes, breakfast meats, baked goods, vegetables, appetizers, meats, poultry, fish, potatoes, and daily specials.
  4. Work action stations as requested and interact positively with guests.
  5. Produce foods from standard recipes within designated timeframes.
  6. Maintain and operate kitchen equipment properly.
  7. Ensure the quality of all foods at all times.
  8. Keep workstation clean and organized, complying with sanitation and safety standards.
  9. Close shifts properly, including cleanup and breakdown of workstations.
  10. Assist with cleaning tasks such as floors, walls, equipment, and storage areas.
  11. Complete tasks in other culinary areas as needed, including dishwashing and waste removal.
  12. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • At least two years of cooking experience in a quality restaurant, hotel, conference center, or country club.
  • Food safety certification (e.g., ServSafe) preferred.
  • Moderate reading and writing skills; ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to promote positive guest relations.
  • Manual dexterity and sensory skills.
Language Ability

Must be able to speak, read, and write English effectively and relate well with managers and colleagues.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Position requires standing for long periods, frequent reaching, bending, lifting up to 75 pounds, and exposure to heat, steam, noise, and hazards such as cuts and burns. Full sensory capacity required.
