Job summary

Opal Collection is seeking a Line Cook to join our kitchen team. You will set up the station, prepare items, follow recipes, and maintain cleanliness and safety standards according to guidelines.

Previous prep or line cook experience is preferred, and a High School Diploma/GED is a plus. Strong communication and knowledge of food safety are essential. We offer comprehensive benefits and employee perks at our resort properties.

Responsibilities

• Sets up the station in time for service according to restaurant guidelines.
• Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
• Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the chef or restaurant.
• Restocks items as needed and takes inventory after service.
• Cleans and maintains stations with safety and sanitation in mind.
• Operates and maintains all equipment at the station.
• Assists with cleaning, sanitation and organization of kitchen and storage areas.
• Performs additional duties as requested by the Chef or Sous Chef.

Responsibilities:

• Sets up the station in time for service according to restaurant guidelines
• Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
• Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the chef or restaurant
• Restocks all items as needed throughout the shift and is responsible for taking inventory after service
• Cleans and maintains stations in practicing good safety, sanitation, organizational skills
• Has understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment in the station
• Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas
• Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by the Chef, and Sous Chef at any time

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED a plus but not required
• Previous experience a plus
• A thorough and deep understanding of professional cooking including basic techniques and working food knowledge.
• Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
• Previous prep or line cook experience.
• Professional communications skills are required
