Job Description

Omni Hotels & Resorts is seeking an experienced Restaurant Breakfast & Brunch Server for the beautiful Interlocken Resort & Spa.

Join our team in our newly renovated hotel restaurant - The Camper. Inspired by elevated camping aesthetics, this non-traditional hotel restaurant features breakfast and brunch with the feel of your favorite local spot.

Omni Interlocken Resort & Spa is seeking a part-time AM Server to join our outstanding food & beverage team! This vital role will work closely with the Director of Outlets and F&B Leaders to ensure successful execution of all operations relating to the Food and Beverage restaurant outlets, resulting in high levels of guest satisfaction. This highly motivated individual will be responsible for providing efficient, friendly customer service at all times. This position will provide elevated service and create memorable experiences for all guests enjoying the hotel Food & Beverage experience. Part Time and Full Time positions available.

Salary for this position starts at: $16.00/hour plus gratuities where applicable. Omni Interlocken Resort reserves the right to pay more or less than listed compensation scale based on factors not related to sex or race. Responsibilities

1. Consistent maintenance and refinement of service standards. Ensures compliance with all hotel standards and local laws.
2. Perform all necessary tasks for a server according to the standard operating procedure of the hotel including but not limited to polishing china, glass, silver and holloware, brewing coffee, serving food and beverage, setup and breakdown of side stations, proper breakdown and storage of FOH food requisitions, cleaning and clearing of tables.
3. Perform all sidework as assigned by management including but not limited to FOH food service prep, the cleaning and stocking of food and beverage equipment, tables, chairs, walls, and carpets surrounding assigned work area.
4. Ensure compliance with health, safety and sanitation awareness standards. Prepare daily for health department and Ecosure inspections.
5. Must retain and maintain complete knowledge of all food and beverage menu items.
6. Report to management any need for housekeeping or maintenance of restaurant and restaurant equipment.
7. Responsible to maintain all furniture, fixtures and equipment to a high standard. Minimize breakage by demonstrating care when handling hotel assets and equipment.
8. Perform proper steps of service for all tables. Responsible for ensuring high-quality table sets, service, food quality and presentation.
9. Ensure positive guest service and respond positively to complaints, taking all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests.
10. Respond to guests’ requests in an accurate and timely manner, creating a positive outcome that will result in a memorable experience.
11. Maintain knowledge of hotel offerings and local surroundings, i.e. nearby entertainment, theaters, etc.
12. Contribute to the restaurant sanitation operation and timing of service out of the kitchen and to the table. Ensures prompt delivery and quality control from point of departure to arrival.
13. Responsible to perform accurate POS procedures and cash/credit handling in accordance with company policies and procedures.
14. Responsible to attend daily stand up meeting to gather relevant information prior to service.
15. Contribute to the cleanliness and organization of all restaurant space, FOH & BOH.
16. Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect and cooperation among co-workers. Treats co-workers fairly and equitably.
17. Maintain a professional, neat and organized appearance according to Omni standards.
18. Respond swiftly and effectively in any emergency or safety situations. Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury or accident.
19. Attend all required department trainings and meetings.
20. Perform any other duties required by leadership.

Qualifications

1. Minimum 1 year serving experience required.
2. Must have knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer.
3. Candidate must have hands-on food and beverage knowledge and a comprehensive, working knowledge of the hospitality business.
4. Proven ability to engage guests at all levels. Must be passionate about providing warm, engaging and personalized service.
5. Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to handle multiple priorities.
6. Must possess the ability to handle stressful and busy hotel operations. Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor and composure at all times.
7. Must have the ability to report to work on time and when scheduled.
8. Must meet standards of appearance and maintain a high level of personal hygiene at all times.
9. Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills. Candidate must be comfortable speaking to guests. Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management, and co-workers.
10. Computer literacy to include: Payroll systems, Micros, POS systems.
11. Serve Safe certified | Unexpired TIPs required.
12. Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
13. Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance.
14. Must have an unexpired TIPs certification and Food Handler certification.
15. Must be 18 years or older.
16. Must have the ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
17. Must be able to lift, push, pull, place and carry objects weighing up to 50lbs without assistance.
