Job Overview

Oversee the breakfast service for our guests and ensure a quality dining experience, including excellence in guest satisfaction with the highest food quality standards and service. Prepare food and beverage for the breakfast function. Maintain clean and sanitary kitchen and dining areas.

Responsibilities
  1. Be dependable and prompt, arriving on time and ready to work in a clean uniform and a name tag.
  2. Prepare breakfast food and beverage items and set out all hot and cold food items following all food safety regulations.
  3. Replenish all food and beverage items during the meal period. Keep all items fully stocked even until we are closed. Ensure all foods are kept at safe temperatures.
  4. Keep all tables bussed and cleaned throughout breakfast and happy hour. Ensure all tables are properly cleaned, and dining area is vacuumed.
  5. Receive and unpack items from food vendors. Date all items as they arrive and pack them according to FIFO (First In, First Out) standards.
  6. Greet each guest as they arrive for breakfast. Assist with service if required and replenish coffee as time permits.
  7. Build rapport with guests, solve problems when able, and report any complaints or issues immediately to management.
  8. Learn about the hotel’s guests through conversations, aiming to learn at least three pieces of information about at least 10 guests per day.
  9. Pass on any sales leads obtained during guest discussions to management.
  10. Create and maintain a pleasant presentation for breakfast.
  11. Maintain a clean breakfast area, store food properly, and remove all trash, taking it out as needed.
  12. Continuously seek cost-effective ways to improve breakfast appeal.
  13. Assist in maintaining safety equipment and emergency procedures for guest and employee safety.
  14. Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous manner at all times.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned or requested by management.
Qualifications

Education/Formal Training

High school education or equivalent.

Experience

Previous experience in a similar position for 3 months or longer.

Knowledge/Skills

  • High school level mathematical aptitude, knowledge of ordering procedures, and safe food handling processes.
  • Experience dealing directly with the public and general customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in oral and written English.
  • Ability to read written communications and handle paperwork processing.
Physical Demands

  • Lifting trays, dish racks, etc., 20-40 lbs; pushing carts and other equipment 50-100 lbs; carrying trays using both hands at 20-40 lbs.
  • Manual coordination needed to punch buttons, grasp items, and balance trays.
  • Bending/kneeling to lower levels and lift trays.
  • Maneuvering in narrow areas and between guests.
  • Continuous standing required during scheduled hours.
  • No driving required.
  • Moderate reading and writing skills to handle records and requests.
  • Ability to multitask, follow instructions, and communicate effectively.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail in crowded, noisy environments.
  • Use tact and understanding in customer service, especially in stressful situations.
