Breakfast Attendant / Host
What’s the job?
Some say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and we want to ensure our guests have a great start to their day. As a breakfast host, you’ll welcome our guests, keep our complimentary breakfast well stocked throughout the service, ensure the lobby area is kept tidy, and help keep service on track and up to standard.
Your day-to-day
- Follow basic re-thermalization instructions for any hot items, thawing items in advance and using the oven to cook for specified time and to specified temperature
- Make sure foods are stored and displayed at the correct temperature.
- Prepare for the next day’s shift by stocking items in advance where possible and thawing frozen items as needed
- Ensure food displays are properly stocked throughout the breakfast service and ensure guests do not feel the items are picked over/past their prime
- Keep coffee and all condiments clean and fully stocked throughout the breakfast
- Be cleaner than clean – meet or exceed local cleanliness and hygiene laws, including for breakfast counters, front-of-house and back-of-house equipment, and lobby dining seating
- Tell your supervisor or duty manager about any unsafe equipment, low supplies or safety incidents
- Give guests a better experience by helping with any queries or advice
- Wear your uniform with pride
- Take on other ad-hoc duties when the whole team needs to pull together
- Make each meal a feast for the eyes and treat for the taste buds. With your own signature flare, you’ll turn our high standards into memorable meals for every guest
- Own your kitchen – keep on top of supplies and equipment, and minimize waste
- Help create a safe space by following safety procedures and wearing necessary protective equipment
What we need from you
- Strong – sometimes you’ll need to lift, push and pull big objects up to 50lbs (23 kg). This can involve bending and kneeling
- Literate – you’ll need a good grasp of reading, writing and basic math
- Flexible – weekend and holiday shifts are all part of the job
- Compliant – as well as meeting local laws on food handling, you’ll be above the minimum age required and fluent in the local language
- Articulate – a great communicator, you’ll be warm, welcoming and easy to talk to
