Job summary

Fairfield by Marriott Rochester Hills is seeking a Breakfast Attendant to manage the full operation of the complimentary breakfast, including food preparation, buffet setup, guest service, stocking, cleanliness, and breakdown. The role demands dependable, organized individuals dedicated to hospitality, food safety, and high cleanliness standards.

This position supports a welcoming guest experience and teamwork with hotel departments.

Qualifications

• Previous food service, hospitality, restaurant, or hotel experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work early morning shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and food presentation.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare breakfast food items according to brand standards and food safety guidelines.
• Set up the breakfast buffet and dining area before service begins.
• Ensure all food, beverages, utensils, serving items, and supplies are fully stocked throughout breakfast service.
• Monitor food quality, freshness, temperature, and presentation.
• Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner and assist with questions or requests.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming breakfast area at all times.
• Clear and sanitize tables, countertops, serving stations, and dining areas during and after service.
• Wash, clean, and properly store breakfast equipment, serving utensils, and supplies.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, and maintain the cleanliness of the breakfast room and surrounding public areas.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department requirements.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management.
• Properly store food and complete breakfast breakdown procedures at the end of service.
• Work cooperatively with other hotel departments to ensure an exceptional guest experience.
