Job summary

Pyramid Global Hospitality is seeking a buffet service associate at Hyatt House LA - University Medical Center in Los Angeles. You will help set up and maintain the breakfast buffet, assist guests, and work closely with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure a high standard of service.

The role emphasizes guest interaction, hosting responsibilities, and a collaborative work environment in a hotel setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in buffet setup and food service preferred.
• Ability to welcome guests and answer questions about breakfast and hotel.
• Strong teamwork and communication with kitchen and front-of-house.

Responsibilities

• Performs any necessary pre-shift side work.
• Familiarizes with buffet items, ingredients, preparation and garnishes.
• Ensures buffet is properly set up and cleaned.
• Sets up hot and cold stations, displays food attractively.
• Maintains communication with kitchen to replenish items.
• Keeps buffet, kitchen and serving area clean and stocked.
• Decorates buffet with seasonal decorations if needed.
• Completes side work and prepares buffet for the next day.
• Acts as host/hostess, welcoming guests and explaining menu offerings.

What You Will Have An Opportunity To Do

• Performs any necessary pre-shift side work.
• Becomes thoroughly familiar with all items on the buffet and means of preparation being offered that day, including the ingredients, preparation, and garnishes.
• Ensures buffet is properly set up and cleaned.
• Sets up hot and cold stations, displaying food in an aesthetic manner.
• Maintains constant communication with kitchen in order to replenish all hot and cold food in an appetizing display.
• Practices "clean as you go" techniques of service by keeping the buffet, kitchen, and serving area clean, neat, and supplied at all times.
• Decorates the buffet with seasonal decorations if necessary.
• Completes assigned side work and prepares the buffet for the following day.
• Acts as a host or hostess with our guests, to welcome them to the buffet, explaining the menu offerings, and answering any questions they have about breakfast or our hotel.
