Job description

Onyett is seeking an experienced Brake Press Operatorresponsible for forming various types of steel for bucket and blade liners, forming metal into different degrees, and forming channels. These responsibilities include shaping metal, maintaining press brake, reading blueprints, completing inspections, packaging, lifting, and moving of parts & inventory, using a forklift, and following safety regulations.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Select proper tooling and dies based on material thickness and type.
  • Set up tooling, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Measures, marks, and scribes’ dimensions and reference points on material or work-piece as guides for subsequent forming as necessary.
  • Calculates and sets controls to regulate forming factors.
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance forming and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
  • Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications, using measuring and inspection tools as necessary.
  • Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
  • Performs routine maintenance tasks on machines as required.
  • Ensure that safe work practices are followed and adhered to.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
