Job summary

Central Transport is seeking a results-driven supervisor to lead our Cincinnati terminal night shift, ensuring safe, efficient dock operations and on-time loading of palletized freight.

You will mentor drivers and dock staff, enforce DOT/OSHA standards, and drive KPI performance while maintaining excellent service to customers. This role requires strong leadership, a solid grasp of LTL operations, and a willingness to work 50 hours per week, including nights and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a team, preferably in transportation operations.
• Strong understanding of the LTL trucking industry.
• Prior management, dispatch and dock experience required, preferably in LTL trucking.
• Ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, and mentor employees.
• Desire to surround customer with excellence in service.
• High aptitude for technology.
• Ability to multitask while being detail oriented.
• Excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills.
• Willing to work 50 hours/week average.
• Willing to work nights/weekends and in any weather.
• Capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-pressure environment.
• An associate or bachelor’s degree, preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee night-time operations of Cincinnati terminal's dock.
• Includes loading, forklift traffic, and palletized freight picking/sorting.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring cube and weight of trailers.
• Provide leadership and accountability to drivers, dock workers and dock hands.
• Monitor dock production and KPI goals.
• Monitor hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in service to internal and external customers.

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee night-time operations of our Cincinnati terminal's dock
• This includes the process of loading, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring the cube and weight of trailers
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers, dock workers and dock hand.
• Monitor dock production, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met and/or exceeded.
• Monitor hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers
