Job summary

La Boulangerie, part of Link Restaurant Group in New Orleans, is hiring a Bread Baker with at least one year of bakery experience. You will open in the morning and ensure the quality of baked goods, executing recipes as set by the Executive Pastry Chef and maintaining BOH cleanliness and organization.

Responsibilities include meeting quality standards, measuring and baking dough, following storage guidelines, and training new staff while maintaining a professional, safe kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of kitchen experience required.
• Sanitation knowledge is required.
• Food safety knowledge is required.
• Passion for food and hospitality is essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensures products produced in the pastry shop meet quality standards set by pastry and executive chefs.
• Mixing and baking bread dough, up to 100 pounds per type.
• Follow recipes accurately.
• Monitor storage, FIFO, and shelf life guidelines for all products.
• Complete daily production duties.
• Use equipment respectfully and carefully.
• Maintain proper storage procedures as per Health Department.
• Notify manager of any ingredient shortages.
• Work professionally with BOH employees.
• Train new employees on basic procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized station.
• Assist in weekly deep cleaning of the BOH.
• Be able to taste all foods when required.
• Follow food safety and kitchen safety practices.
• Continually improve existing skills.

La Boulangerie is currently hiring for the position of Bread Baker with at least one year of previous experience at a bakery. Responsible for opening in the morning and ensuring the quality of baked goods. La Boulangerie Bread Bakers are required to execute bread items and recipes as set forth by the Executive Pastry Chef and are accountable for BOH cleanliness and organization.

• Mixing and baking off bread dough, up to 100# of dough per type of dough.
• Follow recipes accurately
• Monitoring proper storage, FIFO, and shelf life guidelines for all product
• Completion of daily assigned production duties
• Use all equipment respectfully and carefully
• Maintain proper storage procedures as specified by Health Department
• Notify manager of any shortages of ingredients
• Be able to work in a professional manner with fellow BOH employees
• Train new employees on basic procedures
• Maintain a clean and organized station
• Assist in weekly deep cleaning of the BOH
• Be able to taste all food at any required moment
• Follow all proper food safety practices and kitchen safety practices
• Continue to improve upon existing skill set

Physical Demands

The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours.
