Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Agriculture (SCDA) is seeking a Marketing Specialist to coordinate Certified SC and related programs. In this role, you will support members, develop marketing campaigns, verify compliance, and maintain member data while collaborating with internal teams to expand market opportunities for SC agriculture.

This full‑time, on‑site position requires a marketing or agricultural studies background, strong communication skills, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in marketing or agricultural studies with relevant experience or an Associate's degree with more years of experience.
• Valid state driver's license and ability to drive a motorized vehicle.
• Three years of experience in marketing or promotional programs or five years with an Associate's degree.
• Working knowledge of agriculture and SC agribusiness preferred.
• Board management and budget management experience are desirable.
• Experience planning meetings including board meetings and public speaking.

Responsibilities

• Support existing members and recruit new members for SCDA branding programs through outreach and events.
• Develop marketing strategies, campaigns, websites, and branded merchandise for SCDA.
• Inspect and verify member compliance with Certified SC program rules.
• Maintain member data and act as liaison with SC Specialty Food Association.
• Collaborate with Market Development, Communications/Events, and Commodities to create market opportunities.
• Assist with SCDA involvement in SEWE, recruiting vendors and designing the program.
