Shamin Hotels in Glen Allen, VA is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to ensure cleanliness standards, assign tasks, inspect rooms, and train staff to handle guest requests. The role requires coordinating schedules and supervising a housekeeping team within a fast-paced hotel environment.

The position is full-time, non-exempt, pays hourly between $16.75 and $18.00 with bi-weekly pay, and reports to the General Manager. Evening and weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent experience preferred.
• Must have basic Reading, Writing, and Math skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedule room and cleaning assignments to ensure proper coverage.
• Inspects all assigned rooms and public areas for cleanliness and repair.
• Provide feedback to room attendants to improve efficiency and quality.
• Ensure associates have supplies, equipment, and PPE.
• Trains associates on safety standards and enforces them.
• Performs housekeeping duties including making beds, vacuuming, and cleaning.
• Verifies status of discrepant rooms during shift.

Position Overview

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the standards of cleanliness are met. They assign tasks, inspect work to ensure it's up to standard, and provide training on how to best handle customers' requests.

Essential Job Functions

• Schedule room and cleaning assignments to ensure proper coverage.
• Inspects all assigned rooms and public areas to ensure furnishings, equipment, linens, etc. are clean and in good repair.
• Provide efficient and objective feedback to room attendants to drive efficiency and quality within the housekeeping department.
• Ensure that all associates have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms including nametags and designated PPE.
• Trains associates on safety standards and enforces those standards consistently. Identifies associates engaging in unsafe behaviors and retaining them appropriately.
• Completes accident investigations and takes steps to prevent future accidents.
• Performs all housekeeping duties necessary, including making beds, vacuuming, and cleaning.
• Verifies and updates the status of discrepant rooms throughout the shift.
• Perform opening and closing shift duties.
• Moves Heavy Furniture.
• Notifies maintenance department of maintenance repairs necessary.
• Monitor cleanliness of hotels including parking lot and exterior entrances.
• Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
