Job summary

You bring at least six years of professional writing experience, a strong brand voice, and proficiency with AP style, SEO, and CMS platforms such as WordPress or Drupal. Remote US-based work options are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with at least six years of professional writing experience in marketing and journalism.
• Experience shaping and maintaining a cohesive brand voice across diverse topics.
• Crafting narratives backed by research and reporting.
• Attention to detail, well-organized and able to manage multiple projects.
• Familiar with AP style and clarity in complex language.

Responsibilities

• Create, edit and publish content for webpages, blogs and journalistic-style articles from concept to publication.
• Steward the organization's brand identity across all content types.
• Pitch, research, write concise news stories and features for EDF.org and Vital Signs.
• Synthesize stakeholder feedback and revise content to meet project objectives.
• Develop relationships with EDF experts and communications teams to surface compelling stories.
• Contribute to a culture that is inclusive and collaborative while advancing EDF values.
• Maintain knowledge of environmental and political landscape as it pertains to EDF work.
• Work with Creative Team to develop visuals (graphics, photos, videos, interactive formats).
• Understand and apply SEO best practices in content development.
• Use CMS to draft, edit and publish content following editorial calendars and governance.
• Contribute to a vibrant team culture where all voices are valued.
• Additional relevant responsibilities as assigned.
