Job description

We grade, authenticate, vault, and sell millions of record-setting collectibles, all while modernizing and digitalizing the process to further our mission of helping collectors pursue their passions. We’re always on the lookout for talented people to join our growing team. Our services span collectible trading cards, autographs, comic books, coins, video games, event tickets, and memorabilia. Our subsidiaries include PSA, PCGS, Beckett, SGC, and Card Ladder. Since our founding in 1986, we have graded and authenticated millions of items. We employ more than 3000 people across our headquarters in Santa Ana, California and offices in New Jersey, Texas, Florida, Japan, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Canada, Mexico, Germany, the UK, and France.

As part of our interview process, we request that candidates have their cameras on during video interviews. This helps foster meaningful conversation and allows us to create an experience that closely resembles our standard working environment. Certain interview steps may take place by phone. For remote roles, and at our discretion, candidates may be asked to participate in an on‑site interview as part of the final stages of the process. We understand there may be occasional circumstances requiring accommodation and are happy to discuss them as needed. Your recruiter will be able to clarify expectations and answer any questions you have.

About the Role

Collectors is looking for a Brand Editorial Manager, Trading Cards to help build and own a new digital editorial initiative focused on the trading card collecting space. The most important thing you bring is deep expertise in trading cards, particularly sports cards. You understand what makes specific cards significant and can evaluate them across players, sets, products, eras, scarcity, and collector interest. You’ll serve as the program’s subject‑matter expert and day‑to‑day owner, partnering with PSA experts and cross‑functional teams to research, evaluate, and translate your expertise into credible, engaging content for collectors. Strong writing and editing skills are strongly preferred. Deep trading card expertise is essential.

What You’ll Do
  • Own a New Collecting Editorial Program

Manage a new digital editorial program across sports cards, Pokémon, ONE PIECE, and future collecting categories. Own the publishing calendar and coverage around important releases, players, characters, sets, and collecting moments. Identify the subjects, categories, and stories that warrant new coverage or updates. Serve as the primary internal owner and subject‑matter expert for the program. Help establish how the program evolves as its audience, coverage, and scope grow.

  • Bring Deep Card Expertise

Apply your knowledge of sports cards to evaluate cards within the context of their broader collecting landscape. Assess factors such as set importance, card identity, scarcity, parallels, inserts, autographs, memorabilia, design, historical significance, player or character importance, and collector interest. Understand the nuances that differentiate seemingly similar cards and recognize what makes a card particularly significant. Move comfortably between vintage and modern cards, major releases and obscure parallels, and established icons and emerging players or categories. Bring a strong understanding of the hobby's history, terminology, products, releases, and collecting culture. Apply similar expertise to major TCG categories, particularly Pokémon and ONE PIECE, as the program expands.

  • Research and Evaluate

Conduct detailed research into sets, checklists, parallels, print runs, release histories, player and character catalogs, and other relevant attributes. Evaluate both widely known cards and obscure cards with limited public information. Stay closely informed on new releases, product announcements, collecting trends, and other developments across the card collecting space. Identify incorrect, incomplete, or conflicting information and determine the most reliable source or interpretation. Know when additional research or specialist input is required before reaching a conclusion.

  • Build Credible, Collector-Friendly Content

Translate complex collecting knowledge into clear, accessible content that is useful to both experienced collectors and people newer to the hobby. Develop the written and supporting content needed to explain decisions, evaluations, and other program outputs. Establish clear and defensible frameworks for how cards and collecting topics are evaluated. Review and edit content from internal experts or contributors to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency. Maintain a high bar for factual accuracy and credibility.

  • Manage Stakeholders and Publishing

Lead editorial reviews with PSA experts and internal stakeholders. Gather input, reconcile conflicting opinions, and move decisions forward. Coordinate with Product, Product Marketing, Social, Communications, Marketplace, and other teams as needed. Own the publishing workflow from research through final review and publication. Maintain accuracy across live content and manage necessary updates or corrections.

  • Measure and Improve

Track readership, engagement, content performance, and collector feedback. Report on what is working, where audience interest is growing, and where the program should expand. Use performance data to improve the editorial product while maintaining independent editorial judgment. Identify opportunities to strengthen coverage, improve the reader experience, and make the program more valuable to collectors.

Who You Are
  • Exceptional knowledge of the trading card collecting space, with particular strength in sports cards and major TCGs such as Pokémon and ONE PIECE.
  • A deep understanding of sets, products, parallels, inserts, rarity structures, rookie cards, autographs, memorabilia cards, and the factors collectors use to establish significance and hierarchy.
  • Strong instincts for why certain cards matter within a player's, character's, set's, or franchise's broader catalog.
  • The ability to move comfortably between modern and vintage cards, major releases and obscure parallels, and sports and TCG collecting.
  • Strong research skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Sound editorial judgment and the ability to make informed decisions when there is no simple quantitative answer.
  • Ability to manage input and debate from highly knowledgeable stakeholders.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong executive presence and stakeholder management skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action and comfort operating in ambiguous, fast‑scaling environments.
  • Writing, editing, or publishing experience is strongly preferred but not required.
  • Professional experience within the collectibles industry is a plus, but significant demonstrated expertise as a collector is equally relevant.
