Job summary

Walden Security is seeking a Branch Training Manager to plan, schedule, coordinate, facilitate, and present high‑quality security training for our officers and supervisors. You will support onboarding and maintain personnel records, ensuring licensing and certification readiness across the branch.

The role requires delivering instructor-led sessions, mentoring trainees, and coordinating with HR/Operations. Occasional travel (up to 50%) is expected to support training needs and program

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–2 years of professional-level experience required; prior experience in security desirable.
  • Experience in security operations or related security industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and conducts instructor-led training for internal and external programs (ISOT, re-training, annual In-Service, firearms, use of force, etc.).
  • Acts as SME on training certifications and updates training content; advises on new requirements and best practices.
  • Communicates licensing and training requirements with HR and Operations; tracks status and expirations.
  • Schedules new-hire training classes around business needs.
  • Identifies and solves problems; drives continuous improvement.
  • Facilitates training, demonstrations, meetings, and workshops for internal and external customers.
  • Tests trainees to measure progress and evaluate training effectiveness.
  • Mentors and reports progress of new employees to HR/Leadership.
  • Maintains training and licensing records in the LMS; resolves discrepancies.
  • Supports recruiting activities and onboarding paperwork.
  • Oversees uniform orders and inventory.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% to provide required training.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by leadership.

Job description

SUMMARY:

Plans, schedules, coordinates, facilitates, and presents training focused on providing the highest quality security personnel for the accounts supported by the Branch Office. Assists with onboarding and personnel recordkeeping for new hires and current employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Other duties may be assigned by the Regional Vice President (RVP) or Director of Learning and Development:

  • Coordinates and conducts all instructor‑led training for both internally and externally developed programs, including, but not limited to, Initial Security Officer Training (ISOT) program, re‑training programs, annual In‑Service Training, firearms, use of force, less‑than‑lethal weapons, safety, and orientation. Specialized training sessions and all other instructor‑led training for security officers and security supervisors within the branch/organization;

  • Participates as a subject‑matter expert with respect to training certifications to provide updates to new and existing training content, give guidance to new and existing officers, and inform the Director of Learning & Development of new training requirements, best practices, and techniques.

  • Works with all local HR and Operations team members to communicate licensing and training requirements, including but not limited to security license status, training certification expiration, past due training, and upcoming training schedule.

  • Works with local HR and Operations team to schedule new‑hire training classes around business needs.

  • Works with all levels in the organization to identify, analyze, and solve problems and creates opportunities for continuous improvement;

  • Facilitates other individual training, group instruction, demonstrations, meetings, and workshops for internal and external customers, as directed by the General Manager, Regional Vice President, or Director of Learning and Development;

  • Tests trainees to measure progress and evaluate the effectiveness of training.

  • Mentors and reports on the progress of new employees under guidance during training periods to the Branch Human Resources Manager, RVP, or General Manager;

  • Maintains training, licensing, and compliance records by accurately entering all training and licensing information into the Learning Management System and works with Learning & Development to correct any discrepancies.

  • Supports recruiting activities within the branch and delivers drug screening, orientation, and onboarding paperwork to new employees;

  • Oversees all uniform orders, assignments, exchanges, or reimbursements while maintaining uniform room cleanliness and inventory;

  • Maintains confidentiality of all information and data. • Will travel as needed to provide required training to officers and officer candidates, usually up to 50% of the time;

  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the General Manager, RVP, or Director of Learning & Development;

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required. Some college education or business classes are desirable.

  • Minimum 1 – 2 years of professional‑level experience required. Prior experience in the fire service, security industry, law enforcement, or the military is highly desired.

  • Experience in security operations or other functions of the security industry is a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations using the English language. Ability to write reports, internal business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, the Branch Training Manager should possess intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, and should have a working knowledge of Internet programs and learning management systems.
