The Opportunity

The Branch Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and maintenance of the physical facility, inventory control for both lube and fuel, card lock supervision and walk‑in customer transactions. Additionally, they are responsible for wholesale sales growth, customer retention, satisfaction, profitability, operational controls, health and safety performance and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with hiring, training, and managing a team of direct reports including office support, Dispatchers, and CDL Drivers.
  • Assist with assigning and monitoring clerical and administrative responsibilities and tasks among office staff; allocate resources to enable successful task performance and coordinate office staff activities to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Assist with assigning or delegating responsibilities to employees within the department.
  • Design and implement office policies and procedures; oversee adherence to policies, analyze internal processes, and implement changes to improve operational efficiencies.
  • Work with the Director of Operations and the Finance Department regarding the budget and financial plan for the department; prepare annual budget forecasts to set goals and expectations.
  • Promote products and maintain coordination with sales personnel; develop, implement and review goals to increase sales, growth and profitability; provide leadership and vision to the organization by assisting with long‑range and annual plans and with evaluation and reporting of progress.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure all allocations are met and request additional product if needed.
  • Responsible for plant, warehouse, facility and equipment associated with the branch.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of plant, warehouse, facility and equipment associated with the branch.
  • Responsible for rolling assets associated with the branch, including but not limited to tank wagons, transports, trailers and service trucks.
  • Onboard drivers and provide clear guidance on dress attire, proper use of uniforms, safety boots and PPE.
  • Coordinate exemption requests when drivers experience long lines or loading, and customer supply is exhausted.
  • Maintain driver performance and compliance with all applicable DOT laws; manage driver performance through camera system and provide coaching and feedback.
  • Assist with maintaining file for driver quarterly review and safety bonus.
  • In the event of a fuel shortage and a blanket driver exemption notification is provided by the state to exceed daily hours, coordinate with Marketing Manager and Dispatchers to disseminate deliveries to drivers to meet customer needs and communicate with management and the safety department to ensure driver safety.
  • Maintain and uphold customer relationships to maximize profitability; resolve customer complaints and inquiries.
  • Communicate and enforce all safety and security issues for the branch, including property and vehicles; report and process all employee or customer incidents or unsafe acts in accordance with policy and procedure.
  • Set priorities and meet deadlines; plan and carry out assignments, resolve conflicts that arise, inform and coordinate with others as expected; ensure the technical accuracy of work and maintain good working relations; self‑direction and motivation are also expected.
  • Meet performance expectations; complete all duties as assigned.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business‑related field or high school diploma or GED equivalent paired with 5 or more years of experience in business management or a related field.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of management experience, including planning and financial oversight, designing and managing operating budgets, personnel management, hiring and evaluation.
  • Bilingual an asset, English and Spanish.
  • Proven skills in business and financial management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to cope with conflict, stress and crisis situations.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to recognize opportunities to improve business results and/or profitability.
  • Record of success driving an efficient and profitable department.
  • Proven ability to understand the needs of business accounts and convert those needs into sales.
  • Ability to travel to meet business demands.
