Role Overview

As a Branch Operations Manager, you ensure the branch operates efficiently and securely while delivering exceptional customer experiences and fostering team member growth. Your responsibilities include overseeing risk controls, ensuring compliance, enhancing customer experience, managing lobby flow, resolving issues, and supporting team development. You may also support nearby branches as needed.

Responsibilities

  1. Assist customers with transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, and payments.
  2. Oversee operational risk controls to safeguard branch assets, including vault and ATM custodianship.
  3. Ensure an elevated customer experience through personalized, seamless, and attentive service.
  4. Manage lobby flow to optimize customer engagement.
  5. Resolve customer issues efficiently and promptly.
  6. Build strong customer relationships to foster loyalty.
  7. Engage customers via digital platforms and educate on self-service options.
  8. Conduct cash counts and maintain audit logs.
  9. Support tellers, provide coaching, and ensure transaction accuracy.
  10. Communicate effectively with customers across channels.
  11. Use data to improve branch performance and operational efficiency.
  12. Support colleagues in their development and career goals.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of successful experience in branch banking or related operations/support functions, or 12 months of relevant Santander experience.
  • Endorsement from District or Regional leadership.
  • At least 18 months of cash handling and customer service experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Proficiency in cash handling, audit logs, digital tools, and technology.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and work flexible hours including weekends and evenings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Established work history or equivalent through various experiences.
