Position Summary

The Branch Manager II is responsible for all functions of the assigned branch with particular emphasis on managing a client-driven, sales and service environment. This position will plan, direct, and control the activities of branch personnel towards attainment of branch sales goals and objectives, client service standards, and is responsible for the operational and security activities of assigned branch. The Branch Manager II is a catalyst in managing and promoting desired change in the assigned branch. The Branch Manager II manages the operational integrity of his/her assigned branch and assures that quality customer service standards are consistently achieved. Through a leadership role, the Branch Manager II gives support, guidance, and training to branch personnel to encourage the achievement of overall sales, service, productivity, performance, operational, and security goals. The Branch Manager II is also accountable for personnel development, business development and income, expense, and budget management. Branch Manager II is a lead associate responsible for business relationship acquisition and expansion including business lending.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead telemarketing and follow-up sales duties to ensure clients are provided the highest quality product knowledge and service
  • Participate in business development activities, including applicable community-based business and social programs and social gatherings
  • Lead sales activities of the branch and supports promotional sales activities as they are designed by the Vice President of Branch Banking
  • Call on existing clients to maintain and expand banking relationships and call on prospective clients to develop new business
  • Assist with training and resolving problems encountered
  • Following established guidelines, assist clients with Safe Deposit Boxes
  • Meet branch budget objectives; manage income and expenses within budget; meet deposit budget goals; and manage personnel expense within budgetary guidelines
  • Encourage each branch employee to achieve top performance, define performance goals and give employees frequent feedback regarding their work standards and overall job performance; conduct timely and effective performance reviews, counsel poor performers when necessary, and develop all personnel to assume additional responsibilities for future positions
  • Accountable for ensuring that all operational duties are performed with accuracy, allowing a minimum number of errors, paying attention to detail, and establishing proper cash handling habits
  • Attend training seminars to learn new information related to Banking and Bank Management
  • Ensure that this new information is communicated and taught to all branch personnel
Qualifications & Skills
  • Two or more years in retail or branch management experience preferred
  • Leadership experience: with proven ability to coach and develop to drive sales excellence, ensure the delivery of world-class customer service, and operational integrity in a high-volume branch environment
  • Successfully pass the Regulation CC Exam, Operational Knowledge Exam and obtain Signing Authority
  • Successful record of managing objectives in meeting sales goals, deadlines, and branch goals
  • Maintain strong partnerships with community organizations
  • Adaptability, flexibility, and ability to work branch hours, including some weekends and evenings
  • Proven leadership abilities
  • Background in customer service and sales
  • Has previously acted in a supervisory role
  • Knowledge of branch operations, lending, and sales techniques
  • Thorough understanding of goal setting and personnel development techniques
  • Ability to read financial statements, bank statements, and budgets
  • Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to diffuse hostile client interactions and mediate employee relation issues
  • Proven ability to motivate personnel in sales productivity and operational compliance
  • A thorough understanding of regulatory compliance issues
  • Strong math skills
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working with a Windows-based computer environment, working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

The hiringsalaryrange isbased on factors such as experience, skills, education, and internal equity. Compensation decisions are made in consideration of these factors and in alignment with Fremont Bank’s compensation philosophy.
