Branch Manager
Job Description
Level I - Exempt
Job Purpose
The Commercial Grounds Branch Manager is responsible for the overall planning and performance of a Commercial Grounds Management Branch. This position manages various administrative and management functions, including overseeing Account Managers, Production Managers, Enhancement Manager, and Enhancement Designer/Estimator. The manager must be an effective leader, have a solid work ethic, inspire others, and possess a good understanding of Commercial Grounds Management. Other duties may be assigned by the Regional Director. This position supports the Regional Director.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Management
- Implement policies and procedures related to CRM, administration, enhancement design, installation, and management of production teams.
- Balance quality work with profitability, utilizing tools like KPI reports.
- Develop team members from Level II-VI through training and coaching, with support from senior management.
- Foster team cohesion within the branch.
- Facilitate bi-weekly branch meetings with a set agenda submitted to the Regional Director.
Horticulture
- Supervise all horticultural aspects on job sites through the Account and Production Managers.
- Improve horticultural knowledge through education, seminars, and industry engagement.
Administration and Accounting
- Manage purchasing, invoicing, inventory, billing, and collections.
- Review and close open work orders.
- Maintain inventory records and submit reports to the Controller.
- Manage budgeting and cost controls.
- Use company systems to forecast labor and material budgets.
- Ensure data integrity in accounting systems.
- Collaborate on equipment inventory management.
Personnel/Production
- Oversee hiring, training, performance reviews, and termination of Production Managers.
- Manage seasonal staffing and hours using KPI reports.
- Forecast human resource needs seasonally.
- Ensure safety programs are implemented and followed.
Sales and Services
- Maintain effective customer relations through the team and directly.
- Address client concerns promptly.
- Aim to retain at least 95% of contracts.
- Review and approve price increases and contract renewals.
- Promote sales of enhancement and grounds management services.
- Track sales pipeline and contract retention metrics.
Miscellaneous
- Coordinate with other managers for company advancement.
- Ensure branch security and facility maintenance.
- Oversee repairs and maintenance of assets and vehicles.
- Ensure safe operation of company assets.
- Drive company vehicles safely and monitor driver records.
- Maintain industry relevance and oversee subcontractor management.
