Job summary

ICCU is seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead a California branch. You will coach staff, manage operations, and ensure outstanding member service aligned with ICCU’s Eagle Service standards.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent management experience, plus certifications such as Mortgage, Notary, and Medallion Stamp where applicable. Strong leadership and community engagement are essential.

  • Ability to supervise branch personnel and coordinate with Administration.

Job description

To effectively operate a branch. Coach staff and maintain business relations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintains a strong focus on helping each member achieve financial success.
  • Ensure member experiences are always at or above our Eagle Service Standards.
  • Behaves consistently with ICCU’s Core Values of Honesty, Integrity, Respect, Dignity, Growth, Performance, Improvement and Accountability at all times.
  • Be a positive influence on creating an upbeat and energetic team Culture.
  • Ensure smooth operation of the branch in all areas.
  • Be an active member of the community by volunteering on service organizations.
  • Develop and coach all branch personnel to meet branch goals.
  • Innovative marketing of the Credit Union services.
  • Develop and grow branch through business development activities.
  • Ensure accurate balancing of individual MSS team member cash drawers.
  • Ability to make sound lending decisions if loan applications are taken in the branch.
  • Train Financial Service Officers (FSO), if any, to assess risk, train them on ICCU’s lending philosophies, and effectively critique FSO recommendations.
  • Maintain a continuous focus on meeting all NPS goals and Eagle Service standards with branch.
  • Maintain acceptable levels of insurance penetration (if loan applications are taken in the branch) and Game of Work Sales goals.
  • Ensure accuracy of daily vault and branch operations.
  • Enthusiastic and motivational training on a weekly basis or more often if needed in the areas of member service, positional performance, positional growth and excellence, etc.
  • Assign, direct, and coordinate the scheduling needs of the branch team.
  • Effective team member recruiting, hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and training of new team members.
  • Completion of performance documentation and adequate training to meet the needs of each position.
  • Keeping informed of member needs or desires regarding products and services.
  • Take ownership of, support, and bring to resolution all member escalations.
  • Upkeep and maintain physical facility.
  • Ensure all team members’ appearance and dress reflects the standards of a financial institution.
  • Monitor branch daily duty checklist to ensure all operational tasks are completed promptly and accurately, and that the branch always remains in compliance.
  • Assist with helping members in whatever capacity is needed based on member traffic and current staffing levels.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent management experience. Managing any of the following: a Branch with four or less team members, a seasonal location, or a location with irregular hours of operation. Must have a minimum of three years’ experience as a branch team member. Mortgage Certification. Business Account Certification. Signature Guarantee/Medallion Stamp Certification, Notary Public. Ability to work with other department supervisors. Ability to supervise all personnel within the branch. Ability to effectively work and communicate with Administration. Ability to always maintain the confidentiality of Credit Union and member records.

Performance Standard:

Be able to insure the smooth operation of branch and quality service to the membership. Professional in appearance, attendance, quality, and quantity of work performed. Knowledge of all Credit Union functions, procedures, and policies. Prioritize to allow 15 hours per week for coaching. Be involved in business development and community service activities. Must be willing to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act as implemented by ICCU.

Physical Requirements:
  • Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (processing paperwork, filing, stapling, sorting, collating, typing, counting cash, etc.).
  • Sit for extended periods of time.
  • Lift 20-40 pounds of applicable supplies including but not limited to copy paper, cash drawers, marketing material, etc.
  • Repetitive motion using wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Reach keyboards.
  • Ability to operate basic office machines (calculator, computer, telephone, copy machine, fax machine, etc.).
