Job summary

New York Air Brake, part of Knorr-Bremse, seeks an entry-level assembler for freight locomotive components in Riverside, MO. You will assemble valves and pistons, learn testing processes, and inspect parts for serviceability.

It is an on-site role requiring 1–2 years of related experience and basic mechanical aptitude. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; related experience helpful.
• 1–2 years of related experience preferred.
• Must be able to follow procedures and work safely.

Responsibilities

• Basic assembly and building of freight or locomotive valves or brake pistons.
• Learning the testing process.
• Identify serviceable parts during the assembly process.
• Follow procedural guidelines during the assembly process.
• Operation of semi-automatic equipment i.e. lapping.
• Proper use of power and manual tools.
• Proper use of calibrated gauges, power and manual torqueing devices.
• Hazardous waste management duties as necessary with annual DOT compliance.
• Understand and support Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental policies.
• Adhere to regulatory and Integrated Management System policies.
• Support relevant KPIs as defined in the goal tree.
