Job summary

Segula Technologies is seeking an experienced Brake Systems Engineer for the Brake System & Pedals DRE, covering tunable brake components and pedal assemblies across vehicle programs.

The role emphasizes end-to-end design, development, validation, and release, including system sizing, regulatory compliance, CAE guidance, and collaboration with suppliers to meet program goals at Auburn, AL and global markets.

Qualifications

• Lead the design, packaging, and release of brake tunable components (boosters, TMC, calipers, drums, discs, hoses) and pedal assemblies.
• Perform brake system sizing, kinematic calculations, and ensure homologation/regulatory compliance across target markets.
• Study packaging, serviceability, cost implications, and component interdependencies within the vehicle architecture.
• Develop requirement matrices, write RFQs, conduct technical reviews, and manage supplier selection.

Responsibilities

• Component Design & Development: Lead the design, packaging, and release of brake tunable components and pedal assemblies.
• System Sizing & Compliance: Perform brake system sizing, calculations, and regulatory alignment.
• Architecture Integration: Assess packaging, serviceability, and interdependencies within vehicle architecture.
• Supplier & Program Management: Create RFQs, select suppliers, and monitor development timelines.
• Validation, CAE & Attribute Balancing: Define objectives for brake components, guide CAE analyses, coordinate DV/PV testing.
• Plant & Field Quality: Support pre-series builds, conduct root-cause analysis, and drive cost/weight optimizations.
