Job summary

MEC is seeking motivated and dependable Brake Press Operators to join our growing team. This traveling position covers projects in MI, OH, and IL, with per diem for hotel and meals and company-paid lodging for out-of-state assignments.

You will set up and operate brake press machines, read blueprints, and ensure parts meet quality standards. Travel is required, with reliability and safety as top priorities.

Qualifications

• Previous brake press or metal fabrication experience is preferred.
• Ability to read measuring tools and blueprints.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Reliable transportation and a strong work ethic.
• Willingness to travel when required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC and manual brake press machines.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and engineering drawings.
• Measure and inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Adjust machine settings to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment in good working condition.
• Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
• Work with team members and supervisors to meet production goals.
• Assist with additional fabrication and manufacturing duties as needed.

$155 daily per diem for hotel

$55 daily per diem

Must have reliable transportation - will be reimbursed car & IRS rate

Compensation

Travel opportunities are available for projects outside the employee's home state.

For out-of-state assignments:

• $50 per day meal allowance (per person)
• Company-paid accommodations
• Additional travel details will be provided before each assignment.
