Job summary

Avalign Technologies seeks a Brake Press Operator for our Greenwood, IN facility on a 3rd shift. You will set up and operate a brake press to form parts per blueprints and work instructions, ensuring quality and accurate documentation.

The role requires the ability to read blueprints, operate the brake press, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year of related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and operation sheets.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets blueprints and work operations sheets to determine appropriate operations.
• Completes forming responsibilities including offsets, large radii and standard bends.
• Uses gauges to perform quality checks and reports dimensional problems.
• Maintains accurate counts on completed and scrapped parts.
• Completes production paperwork and enters data into the system.
• Maintains tools, measuring instruments and a clean, safe work area.

We are looking for a Brake Press Operator to join our Greenwood, IN facility on a 3rd shift schedule. You will set up and operate brake press to form parts in accordance to the blueprint specifications and work instructions.

What You’ll Do:

• Reads and interprets blueprints and work operations sheets to determine appropriate operations to be performed
• Completes forming responsibilities which may include offsets, large radii and standard bends
• Uses inspection gauges such as calipers (both dial and vernier), micrometers, squares, and height gauges to perform quality checks on parts as outlined by AQL and work instructions; reports dimensional problems to supervisor or set-up person.
• Maintains and ensures accurate counts on completed parts and scrapped parts
• Completes production paperwork and makes required entries into company data base
• Maintains tools, measuring instruments, and equipment in a clean and orderly manner
• Reports all equipment problems or malfunctions to supervisor/manager immediately; and maintains clean, orderly and safe work areas at all times.

What You’ll Need:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• 1 year of related experience and/or training
• Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Mathematical skills to manage units of measure, fractions, decimals, whole numbers
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and operations sheets to determine set-up and operations to be formed
• Ability to set-up and operate Brake Press machine, input and maintain data in Traverse Manufacturing System
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
