Job summary

Avalign Technologies in Greenwood, IN is seeking a Brake Press Operator for a 1st shift. You will set up and operate a brake press to form parts according to blueprints and work instructions, and perform quality checks to ensure conformance.

You will read blueprints, maintain equipment, complete documentation, and uphold safety in a temperature-controlled environment with opportunities for growth and advancement.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of related experience or training preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and instructions.
• Mathematical skills for measurements and tolerances.
• Ability to operate Brake Press and input data in Traverse Manufacturing System.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and operation sheets to determine the required forming steps.
• Set up and operate brake press to form parts per specifications.
• Perform quality checks using calipers, micrometers, and height gauges; report issues.
• Maintain accurate counts of finished and scrapped parts.
• Complete production paperwork and update the company database.
• Keep tools and equipment clean and well-maintained.
• Report equipment problems immediately and uphold safety standards.

We are looking for a Brake Press Operator to join our Greenwood, IN facility on a 1st shift schedule. You will set up and operate brake press to form parts in accordance to the blueprint specifications and work instructions.

What You’ll Do:

• Reads and interprets blueprints and work operations sheets to determine appropriate operations to be performed
• Completes forming responsibilities which may include offsets, large radii and standard bends
• Uses inspection gauges such as calipers (both dial and vernier), micrometers, squares, and height gauges to perform quality checks on parts as outlined by AQL and work instructions; reports dimensional problems to supervisor or set-up person.
• Maintains and ensures accurate counts on completed parts and scrapped parts
• Completes production paperwork and makes required entries into company data base
• Maintains tools, measuring instruments, and equipment in a clean and orderly manner
• Reports all equipment problems or malfunctions to supervisor/manager immediately; and maintains clean, orderly and safe work areas at all times.

What You’ll Need:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• 1 year of related experience and/or training
• Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Mathematical skills to manage units of measure, fractions, decimals, whole numbers
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and operations sheets to determine set-up and operations to be formed
• Ability to set-up and operate Brake Press machine, input and maintain data in Traverse Manufacturing System
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
