Job summary

Dakota Bodies Llc in Watertown, SD is hiring day, night, and weekend Brake Press Operators. We welcome both beginners and experienced workers who can lift up to 50 pounds.

Starting pay is $20.00 per hour with a $2.00 per hour night shift differential. Responsibilities include setting stops, changing dies, aligning parts, reading blueprints, measuring with micrometers, and ensuring parts meet specifications.

Qualifications

• Experience preferred but will train.
• Able to read blueprints.
• Able to read a tape measure.
• Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Set stops on machine bed, change dies, and adjust components as needed during multiple passes.
• Operates power press, brake, swaging machine, or other presses per specifications.
• Installs, aligns, and secures gears, fixtures, dies using gauges and hand tools.
• Plans sequence of operations and checks dimensions and weight of parts.
• Reads blueprints and uses measuring tools to verify accuracy.

New to the Brake Press or a seasoned veteran, we are willing to consider anyone eager enough to learn - as long as you can lift up to 50 pounds!Starting pay: $20.00 per hour, DOENight Shift Differential: $2.00 per hourJob Duties and TasksSets stops on machine bed, changes die, and adjusts components, such as ram or power press, when making multiple or successive passes.Operates power press, power brake, apron brake, swaging machine, foot-powered press, hydraulic press, or arbor press according to specifications.Installs, aligns, and secures gears, holding fixtures, dies to machine bed, using gauges, templates, feelers, shims, and hand tools.Plans sequence of operations, applying knowledge of physical properties of metal.Inspects workpiece for defects.Measures workpiece and verifies dimensions and weight, using micrometer, template, straightedge, and scale.Selects and positions flat, block, radius, or special purpose die sets into ram and bed of machine, using hoist, crane, measuring instruments and hand tools.Knowledge, Experience, EducationExperience preferred but will train.
