Job summary

The Division of Neuroradiology within the Department of Radiology and Medical Imaging at the University of Virginia seeks applications for a Research Scientist to advance brain MRI research in normal and pathologic conditions. The successful candidate will work with the Division Chief to facilitate collaborative human brain MRI research across UVA departments.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree with dissertation using human neuroimaging methods.
• Preferred fields include neuroscience, cognitive science, psychology or data science.
• Experience with high-throughput analyses on large datasets is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement MRI approaches for ongoing and new research projects.
• Train and supervise personnel in advanced brain MRI data analyses.
• Engage with UVA brain imaging community to foster new research directions.
• Analyze large brain MRI datasets, including statistical testing.
• Write and submit peer-reviewed manuscripts and manage the publication process.
• Present results at scientific conferences.
• Pursue extramural funding to perform independently developed research.
