Job summary

The Regents of the University of California on behalf of their Los Angeles Campus invites applications for a full-time Staff Research Associate in the Brain and Body Lab (BABLab) within the UCLA Psychology Department. The SRA will coordinate and run a federally-funded study on brain-gut function in youth, involving behavioral tasks, fMRI, and biological measures.

Qualifications

• Strong prior research experience in a lab setting within Psychology or related field.
• Experience with neuroimaging data acquisition and analysis, particularly FSL.
• Prior interest in, or experience with, developmental, psychiatric, or special populations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with study participants and lab members.
• Excellent oral and written communication for publications, IRBs, and website updates.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail for protocols and data.
• Strong computing skills in Mac/PC (Microsoft Office).
• Understanding of lab research methods.
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage deadlines.
• Ability to handle confidential materials with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and conduct a federally-funded research study on brain-gut function.
• Program and implement behavioral tasks for experiments.
• Recruit and schedule participants; run research sessions and collect data.
• Analyze data and contribute to manuscript preparation and posters.
• Maintain a database for participant recruitment and research data; manage IRB submissions.
• Supervise undergraduate researchers and support lab operations.
