Job summary

SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY invites a psychologist to join the Brain and Behavior Program within the Neuropsychology Assessment Program (NAP). You will provide neuropsychological evaluations, psychotherapy, and consultation for patients with neurological conditions.

You will work in a collaborative academic medical center with a lead and a team of neuropsychologists, and participate in teaching, research, and administrative initiatives.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

Join SUNY Upstate Medical University's Brain and Behavior Program, part of the Neuropsychology Assessment Program (NAP), and help advance our mission of improving the health of the communities we serve through exceptional patient care, education, and research. Working alongside the Brain & Behavior Program Lead and a team of five neuropsychologists, including three board-certified specialists, the Psychologist will provide psychological and neuropsychological evaluations, psychotherapy, and consultation for patients with Functional Neurological Disorders (FND) and other neurological conditions that affect mood, coping, and quality of life. The position also includes opportunities to collaborate with Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Neurology, and Neurosurgery, and to participate in educational, administrative, and research initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

• PhD or PsyD in Psychology.
• New York State Psychology license or eligibility for licensure.
• Must possess a NYS Psychology license at the time of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA- or CPA-accredited program.
• Completion of an APA- or CPA-accredited predoctoral internship.
• Specialization in Health Psychology, Rehabilitation Psychology, Neuropsychology, or a related field.
• Experience working with patients with neurological, rehabilitation, or chronic health conditions.
