Data Guide Cable is seeking a Braid Operator to set up and run braiding machines in our wire and cable production environment. You will mount materials, thread braids, adjust settings, and monitor quality to ensure consistent cable shielding and reinforcement.

The role requires sharp attention to detail, good manual dexterity, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing setting, with rotating shifts and routine maintenance responsibilities.

• Ability to read and follow work orders, travelers, drawings, specifications, and instructions.
• Strong attention to detail to identify defects and process changes.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality in a production setting.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed.
• Basic math for measurements, counts, conversions, and data recording.
• Fine motor skills and manual dexterity for threading and handling small wires.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve machine, tension, material, and quality issues.
• Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Aufgaben

• Set up, start up, operate, and shut down braiding machines per instructions.
• Mount and load bobbins, carriers, reels, or materials onto machine spindles.
• Thread materials and adjust tension, speed, and traverse for desired braid pattern.
• Operate braiding equipment to apply shielding or reinforcing materials over cores.
• Monitor machine performance and adjust for defects or issues during production.
• Inspect in-process and finished braid quality for coverage, defects, or variation.
• Record production data, material usage, and quality checks accurately.
• Perform routine housekeeping, lubrication, and basic maintenance on equipment.
• Communicate issues or delays to lead operator or supervisor.
