Job summary

Times Microwave Systems is seeking an operator to run and maintain a bank of braiding machines, ensuring continuous production and efficient use of supplies. The role requires attention to manuals and basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime.

Candidate will work on a shift basis, handling reels and bobbins, reporting issues promptly, and contributing to a clean, safe work environment in compliance with EH&S policies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience.
  • Ability to comprehend parts/operator manuals/instructions.
  • Solid troubleshooting ability.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a bank of braiding machines and position supplies while maintaining related records.
  • Set-up and operate 48 carrier machines as directed to ensure continuous operation.
  • Maintain operational supplies and replace minor worn parts (pawls, sleeves, ratchets) as needed.
  • Procure empty take-up reels, filled bobbins and other supplies for all machines.
  • Change take-up reels, reload materials, and resupply care material as required.
  • Run braiding units and monitor for broken wires, empty bobbins, and other faults.
  • Take corrective action to restart units and report ongoing issues to maintenance or supervision.
  • Accumulate scrap and short ends of wire, weigh and report.
  • Return empty bobbins and resupply areas as directed.
  • Prepare braid reports and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Detect defective material or unusual conditions and report to supervision; keep area clean and orderly.
  • Adhere to environmental, health and safety regulations.
