Job description

We have a Braid & Weaver Machine Operator position available on 3rd shift. The duties and responsibilities include set-up, adjust, and operate multiple braiding machines.

Today, EIS Wire and Cable Inc. operates a modern 125,000 sq. ft. facility based in Western Massachusetts and specializes in manufacturing a wide range of custom design and standard construction products-from single conductor hook-up wire to complex multi conductor composite cables.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Follow standard work instructions.
  2. Set-up, adjust, and operate multiple braiding machines.
  3. Replace bobbins as material runs out, splice ends together to ensure smooth braid.
  4. Remove reels from take-ups and install pay-off reels as needed.
  5. Complete paperwork and enter transactions into the computer system.
  6. Train in Lean methods and participate in team projects to help reduce throughput time and increase productivity.
  7. Evaluate work center issues with materials, machines, and workloads and report current status to supervisors.
  8. Stack reels on pallets.
  9. Keep test and respool areas clean and organized.
  10. Follow all safety and housekeeping policies.
  11. Understand and adhere to Kanban scheduling system.

Requirements:

  1. Pass a color identification test.
  2. Able to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
  3. Must have good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  4. Able to lift 50 lbs. with assistance.
  5. The job requires standing and/or walking for long periods of time.
  6. Reliable attendance.
  7. Position may have some required overtime.

Schedule:

  1. Full-time - 40+ hours per week.
  2. Monday to Friday.
  3. Pay rate based on experience.
