OVERVIEW OF POSITION:

Under general direction, serves as the Clinical Case Managers' primary point-of-contact for practitioners, service providers, and participants; assures complete and accurate documentation has been processed; facilitate resolution of grievances. Provides direction and supervision of the day-to-day activities of the clinic’s medical programs; manages, implements and monitors the quality assurance programs; develops and implements programs to retain volunteers and clinical staff; implements credentialing, re-credentialing and in-service training programs; assists in long- and short-term planning. In all responsibilities, the position demonstrates a strong commitment to ESSC’s mission and values.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:

Serves as the primary point-of-contact and liaison with network providers, ESSC Regional Clinical Directors, participant caregivers, Kaiser Permanente, and other professionals as needed. Follows up on assigned requests for ABA Network Providers. Monitors behavioral network providers by observation of services provided, two times per year per family, or as directed by management. Serves as the primary point-of- contact and liaison with participants assigned to a network provider. Manages service provider assignment process, and facilitates resolution of participant grievances and issues. Receives, responds, redirects, reports and/or documents participant and caregiver interactions as required. Oversees behavioral network providers to assure quality service with referrals, assignments, reports, and communications as directed; trains, supports, and evaluates, services provided by behavioral network providers, as necessary. Assists the Clinical Case Manager with ensuring their responsibilities, authorities, and accountabilities are defined and understood. Manages and evaluates performance, and monitors productivity of Clinical Case Managers as assigned. Conducts weekly meetings with Clinical Case Managers for review and monitoring of report submission timelines, caseload, capacity needs of referrals to Behavioral Provider Network, and clinical support. Monitors and supports performance management of network providers. Assists the Regional Vice President with completing necessary documentation including evaluation, quality assurance reviews, and audits. Attends and participates in Clinical Case Manager team meetings; leads, collaborates, and/or participates in service and/or organizational activities or Performance Improvement Projects. Attends or runs Clinical Case Manager team meetings, and assists the Senior Regional Vice President with coordinating associate development trainings Prepares or provides specialized training and instruction material as assigned by the Regional Vice President. Provides initial and ongoing training for Clinical Case Manager associates. Assists with development and maintenance of training documents for network providers. Monitors and supports performance management of Clinical Case Managers. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in early childhood education/development, early childhood special education, or psychology, required.
  • Must be a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
  • Current CPR certification card, required.
EXPERIENCE:
  • 2 years as a Clinical Case Manager at Easter Seals Southern California, and an understanding of the organization and department policies and practices, preferred.
  • 4 years of administrative/clerical environment experience in a clinical setting, and prior supervisory experience, preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Windows-based applications, databases, and internet usage, with demonstrated knowledge of modern office practices and operations, business etiquette, telephone protocol, machines and equipment. Demonstrated organizational, decision-making, and oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of associates, physician’s office personnel, and the general public, general knowledge of clinical and business needs and processes within health care organizations. Ability to assist in efficient office operations, work independently, and as a team member; to maintain customer-service orientation and professionalism in all interactions; to exercise discretion and confidentiality pertaining to the work environment. Ability to remain focused and flexible while shifting/changing priorities, carrying heavy workloads and tight deadlines, and producing high quality work. Able to obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation per Easter Seals Southern California (ESSC) and/or program requirements. Ability to travel locally with reliable transportation, maintain driving record in compliance with Transportation Safety Standards; have and maintain proper auto insurance and vehicle registration. Ability to pass post-offer medical examination. Ability to provide proof of required vaccinations or positive titer showing immunity. Must pass all drug testing required by ESSC.

  • Walking: Occasional/ Up to 3 hours per day.
  • Repetitive Motion/Activity: Keyboard activity, telephone use, writing.
  • Visual Acuity: Ability to view computer monitor and read newsprint with or without corrective lenses.
  • Travel: Throughout Southern California.
  • Environmental Exposure: Tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, but employment may require performing unplanned tasks which do involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.
