Job summary

ST HELENS SD 502 is seeking a Boys Wrestling Coach for St. Helens Middle School, Oregon. The role oversees the wrestling program, schedules practices, communicates with families, and ensures compliance with OSAA and district policies.

Interviews are anticipated in December; the winter season runs December 2026–February 2027. The coach will lead the team responsibly, encourage academic achievement, and coordinate with the Athletic Director on budgets, injuries, rosters, and equipment needs.

Qualifications

• Must have or be willing to obtain NFHS Certification and Steroid and Concussion Management Training.
• Must have or be willing to attend Blood Borne Pathogens, Sexual Harassment, Bullying Prevention and Child Abuse Training.
• Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Must have or be able to obtain a First Aid and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Direct the wrestling program in line with district goals and school policies.
• Schedule and conduct practices with consideration for student welfare.
• Maintain communication with parents, players, and Athletic Director.
• Promote the sport and coordinate with media and community outlets.
• Model good sportsmanship and professional conduct at all times.
• Ensure compliance with OSAA rules and district policies.
• Coordinate with Athletic Director on budget, injuries, rosters, and equipment.
• Provide athletes and parents with written program expectations and conduct rules.
