A Boys Volleyball Assistant Coach supports the head coach in developing players, planning practices, managing game-day logistics, and fostering a positive, competitive team environment.

Core Responsibilities

Player Development & Instruction

• Teach fundamental skills
• Run individual and position-specific drills
• Offer constructive feedback during practice and match play to build skill and athletic confidence.

Practice & Game Preparation

• Assist the head coach in designing and executing daily practice plans.
• Set up and break down equipment (nets, ball carts, antennas, stat boards)
• Scout upcoming opponents and assist in building match strategies.
• Manage game-day responsibilities such as keeping stats, tracking substitutions, and managing the bench.
• Serve as a positive role model, promoting sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork.
• Help maintain player safety and ensure athletic training guidelines/protocols are followed.
• Support high academic standards for student-athletes.
• Assist with JV or Freshmen team coaching if designated.

Administrative Duties

• Assist with equipment inventory, uniform distribution, and facility setup.
• Help organize team travel, scorebook documentation, and media/stat submissions.
• Maintain clear communication with the head coach, athletic director, and players.
