Position: Boys Volleyball Athletic Coach
Qualifications
  • Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
  • Previous successful coaching experience in the assigned sport (major sports).
  • The head coach must have substantial technical knowledge of the sport and stay updated on new theories and procedures.
  • Serve as a role model for student athletes through instructions and actions.
Reports To

The athletic director, who provides overall objectives and final evaluation in conjunction with high school principals.

Supervises

Assistants and middle school coaches, in coordination with the athletic director and principal.

Job Goal

Instruct athletes in skills, strategy, and physical training; promote character development, self-discipline, confidence, and pride; and upgrade coaching skills through clinics and observations.

Responsibilities
  • Implement athletic policies and regulations.
  • Understand and interpret league and system regulations.
  • Refer requests or grievances through proper channels.
Staff Responsibilities
  • Establish coaching philosophy and techniques.
  • Train and inform staff, encourage professional growth.
  • Delegate duties, supervise, and evaluate staff.
  • Maintain discipline and morale.
Administrative Duties
  • Assist with scheduling and event preparation.
  • Manage documentation for compliance and safety.
  • Advise on policies and procedures.
Student Responsibilities
  • Mentor students, promote character traits.
  • Monitor grades and conduct.
  • Oversee practices, games, and travel.
  • Provide training rules and handle injuries and emergencies.
  • Manage discipline and assist with college planning.
Finance, Facility, and Equipment
  • Participate in budgeting and equipment management.
  • Ensure proper equipment use and maintenance.
Public Relations
  • Organize meetings and promote the sport.
  • Maintain media relations and public image.
