Qualifications

• Experience coaching a sport with progressively increased responsibility.
• Ability to maintain rapport with students, parents, teachers and administration.
• Knowledge of current best practices and methods of teaching the sport's skills.
• Successful completion of the MHSAA Coaches Advancement Program or ability to complete within 30 days of employment.
• Training and up-to-date knowledge in first aid, CPR, concussion, AED and universal precautions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with athletes, parents, staff, Athletic Director and administrators in a positive, professional manner.
• Demonstrate strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Create an atmosphere that promotes sportsmanship and stewardship.
• Serve as a positive role model and mentor for athletes.
• Coordinate with head coaches and programs to foster a positive environment.
• Establish a scope and sequence for skill development at each level.
• Oversee team rules, regulations, and conduct.
