Qualifications

• Valid NJ instructional certificate or eligibility or County Substitute Certificate.
• Minimum experience as determined by the board.
• Knowledge of sport, training, injury prevention and development.
• Ability to maintain positive learning environment and high conduct standards.
• Ability to read and write.
• Good physical health and ability to perform duties.
• High integrity and strong character.
• Interpersonal skills to relate with students, staff, administration, parents and community.
• Residency in New Jersey or agreed to obtain residency within one year.
• Proficient English communication.
• Provide proof of US citizenship or legal status.
• Criminal history clearance per state rules; health adequate for duties.
• Pass Mantoux test as required; meet acceptable alternatives.

Responsibilities

• Coach individuals in skills necessary for success in the sport.
• Oversee team members; promote sportsmanship and enforce rules.
• Comply with emergency medical procedures during practice and contests.
• Select team members and verify eligibility for participation.
• Plan and schedule practices; attend all contests.
• Ensure safety conditions of facilities at all times students are present.
• Manage team equipment and assist in distribution of gear.
• Assist athletic director in arrangements for competitions and transportation.
• Recommend equipment, supplies and uniforms as appropriate.
• Obtain parent permission and maintain team records.
• Assist in budget preparation and uphold school policies and rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
