Job Description

Assistant Coach

About St. HOPE Public Schools

Since 2003, St. HOPE Public Schools has passionately worked toward the mission of graduating self-motivated, industrious, and critical-thinking leaders committed to serving others, lifelong learning, and earning a college degree. The schools include three charter schools: PS7 Elementary School, PS7 Middle School, and Sacramento Charter High School, located in the Oak Park neighborhood of Sacramento.

Our results demonstrate success in closing the achievement gap and helping scholars reach their potential, with higher-than-average state testing scores despite a higher percentage of minority and low-income students. Highlights include:

  • Sacramento Charter High School recognized as the highest performing high school for black students in California by CCSA.
  • PS7 and Sacramento Charter High School named California Education Champions by the National Action Network.
  • PS7 twice awarded the Title 1 Achievement Award, recognized as a California Distinguished School, and nominated for a Blue Ribbon.
  • In 2020, 93% of Sac High scholars were accepted into four-year colleges, with 100% meeting UC/CSU requirements.

We believe in the power of excellent classroom teaching over multiple years to overcome achievement gaps, focusing on collaboration, curriculum alignment, and a supportive environment to foster scholar success.

Our middle school results show significant growth over three years, with notable improvements in math and English proficiency levels.

Beyond academics, we prioritize school culture, family engagement, a broad elective program, and teacher development to create a thriving learning environment.

Our Community and Future Goals

St. HOPE also promotes economic growth and revitalization through projects like the 40 Acres Art and Culture Center. Despite progress, we aim to be a top urban TK-12 public school system nationally, seeking dedicated individuals committed to this mission.

Join Our Team

The ideal candidate will bring passion, grit, and a commitment to closing the achievement gap, with a willingness to learn and grow. We value the following pillars:

  • High Expectations: Setting high standards for scholars and self.
  • Choice & Commitment: Doing what's best for scholars daily.
  • More Time: Going above and beyond for better results.
