Job Summary

Normandy Schools Collaborative is seeking an experienced Boys Soccer - Assistant Coach to lead efforts in the school's football program by developing and executing a shared vision and mission for the development of student-athletes. Reporting to the Head Soccer Coach, the Assistant Coach will set the vision for academics and athletics while implementing a rigorous coaching plan for student athletes. Provide instruction and coach students to develop skills and ability to excel in life.

Responsibilities
  1. Use a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet the needs and improve the abilities of student athletes in the sport assigned.
  2. Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.
  3. Work with other members of school staff to plan and implement instructional goals and objectives for the overall educational development of student athletes.
  4. Establish performance criteria for competition and evaluate students' athletic abilities periodically.
  5. Ensure safety by taking necessary precautions to protect student athletes, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  6. Monitor and enforce student eligibility criteria for extracurricular participation.
  7. Coordinate with the athletic director to schedule competitions and arrangements.
  8. Develop and evaluate the coaching program regularly, making improvements as needed.
  9. Supervise student athletes during competitions and out-of-town trips.
  10. Apply and enforce discipline in accordance with school policies and promote sportsmanship.
  11. Maintain open communication with parents, students, and staff through conferences and meetings.
  12. Assist in equipment and instructional material selection.
  13. Maintain reports, records, and inventory of athletic assets.
  14. Oversee maintenance and storage of athletic equipment.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and/or MSHSAA Requirements for Athletic Coaches.

Knowledge/Skills
  • Knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures.
  • Ability to instruct and supervise student athletes.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions
